Uplifting - Not Afraid / Eminem

* 차분할 때 듣기 좋은 곡이 있고, 힘이 필요할 때 듣는 곡이 누구나 있을 것이다.

이 곡은 나에게 에너지 생성의 핵심이다.

듣다 보면 못할 게 없어지고, 뭐든 다 할 수 있을 것 같은 기분이 든다.

 

솔직히 에미넴 중독자였기도 했지만, 곡이 너무 좋다. 오 마이 갓!

 

이 곡은 2010년 4월 29일에 처음 공개됐는데 그때 매니저였던 Paul Ros Enberg는 이 노래를 'Uplifting'이라고 표현했다.

듣다 보면 절로 희망과 기운이 느껴지니, 딱 절묘한 표현이라는 생각도 든다.

그리고 한편으로는 지난 몇 년 동안 에미넴 자신이 마약 중독과 갱생의 어려움에서 얼마나 힘겨워했고 노력했는지도 느끼게 해준다.

이 곡을 듣는 사람들은 곡만 듣지 않고 뮤직비디오도 함께 보는 경우가 많을 것이다.

나도 그랬다.

그리고 뮤직비디오에 뿅 반했다.

 

뮤직비디오는 미국 뉴저지주 뉴아크 다운타운에서 촬영했는데, 멀리로 뉴욕이 보이는 것 같기도 하다.

뉴저지 저길 가봤나?

아마 안 갔던 것 같은데, 정말 꼭 가보고 싶다.

 

첫 화면,

화면의 절반쯤을 차지하는 하늘과 멀리로 보이는 고층건물들. 그리고 어떤 높은 건물의 옥상 난간에 올라간 에미넴.

여기서부터 쩐다.

그리고 그 난간에서 노래를 하다가 한발 앞으로, 나가더니 추락하듯 날아오른다. 너무 좋아서 욕이 나올 뻔했다.

 

이 노래를 따라 하고 싶어서 엄청 애를 썼지만 랩은 못하고 벌스만 조금. 하하, 더 연습을 해야겠지만 쉽진 않다.

근데 어려워서 이 과정이 더 재밌기도 하다.
